The objectives of beginning band and orchestra programs are to provide students with opportunities to experience active music-making, to learn basics about music theory, learn music notation, and to develop the technical skills necessary to play a musical instrument successfully in an instrumental organization. MUSICSTAR Beginning Band and Orchestra classes prepare students for membership in high school band programs. As such, these programs are a valuable asset not only to the participating students, but also to middle and high school band programs, as they develop students that have the knowledge and skills to readily excel in high school music programs.
